recording to external hdd on KD-49XF8796 tv with PVR function

So, I have purchased my KD-49XF8796 tv,

I have connected & registered my external toshiba USB 250gb HDD which the tv has formatted and recognised. The TV boasts PRV recording but when I select record (in real time or from the tv guide) using the remote, I am presented with the message ' This button is unavailable in YouView mode'. How can i record to the connected drive, or record at all? How to I exit YouView mode (internet?) and enter a mode where I can record?

Any advice appreciated

Go to settings & disable Youview, doing this should auto bring up Freeview.
