Sony ag8 tv won’t switch on after being on standby for a while

After the recent update done on my tv I have found not being able to turn it on after being on standby for a period of time, I end up pulling the power lead out for 30 seconds then reconnecting it and the tv will come on. just done a factory reset so I’m hoping it will fix it

any other suggestions?

If you have performed the reset, this should have hopefully resolved this issue for you.

Yes by doing a factory reset it has sorted the issue out

Hi all.

sorry for being late to the party. I’m having the same issue since updating my AG8 tv to the latest software (Feb 2020). I have tried the factory reset. Set everything back up again. But every time I turn the tv off after viewing it then refuses to turn back on . You have to kill it at the wall for a minute and then wait for it to restart. It’s incredibly frustrating

Have you tried turning the power saving on to low? Mine did it again recently and after turning it onto power saving mode low it seems to fix it

If you have done the factory reset then try turning the power saving mode onto low and try that, I have done that and it seem to have fixed it at the minute

@David.eyres have you tried removing USBs before switching to standby?
