Phone running slowly

My phone has been running increasingly slowly, to the point that programmes and apps which used to open almost immediately, now take several seconds.

Hi @Polly14, sorry to hear about this.

Have you restarted your phone? That is always a good start, just to make sure that nothing is stuck in the background and is consuming CPU power.

Make sure that you have some storage free on the internal storage, at least 500 MB, as the device will slow down a bit if the internal storage is completely full since cached data and so on can't be saved. You can see how much free storage you can have in Settings > Storage.

I did a factory reset, which seems to have sorted it.

If you should experience this again, remember to check the available storage space and just reboot the device and see if that helps!

I am experiencing the same issue but can take longer than a few seconds to process. I have tried all the solutions mentioned but the problem keeps coming back. Any help please?

Hi @Pwoody44, sorry to hear about this and I'm sorry for the late reply, I have been out of office due to vacation.

You mention that it comes back after a while and that you have tried the available solutions, did you also try and perform a factory reset?

If you perform a factory reset and it works fine for a while and then the device is slow again, it's most likely a downloaded application that is the cause of this.

Can you try and run the device in safe mode for a few hours and see if there is any change when downloaded applications aren't running?
