Xperia L4 won't allow OEM unlocking

I am attempting to unlock the bootloader on a Sony Xperia L4 (XQ-AD51).

The issue is that whenever the toggle switch is toggled to the "on" position, the system automatically toggles it back off.

I have unlocked literally hundreds of Sony phones in the past (not this model though) and have never seen this issue.

The device reports that the bootloader can be unlocked (via the dialler screen).

It is running the most recent firmware (

57.0.A.2.258)

Does anyone know what else I can try.

You can contact Sony developers support for this one because they support the part of unlocking the boot loader on the device, and this there contact page: https://developer.sony.com/contact-us

Just be careful because unlocking the boot loader voids your device's warranty
