Just got a new Sony Xperia XA but having big issues with connecting onto the WiFi in work. I can get connected intermittantly but more often than not it just fails with authentication issues (all passwords etc are correct as it does connect maybe 1 time out of 20) . I've tried in safe mode as suggested on other posts. The WiFi at home seems fine no issues there. If I cant get a solution to this then it's going back to Virgin Mobile. Running Android 6.0.1 & build number 33.2.a.3.81 kernel version 3.18.22+ .

Anyone got any ideas?????

The WiFi in work is fine for Nokia, HTC iPhone just the sony XA having issues.

The router is in fact wireless AP's throughout the large work environment (NHS location) so no single real router as such, just access via our service provider - Virgin Media.

In the end decided the phone wasn't for me although a nice enough phone esthetically, with issues like this i'd end up spending most of my time sorting those out. Decided to return the phone & look for somthing more robust & able.

BTW I work in the IT dept. as a tech so I know when the issue lies with a device or the WiFi system.

thanks anyway

My phone WiFi works perfectly at home, at my parents, cafés, technically everywhere... But it does not connect to the Cisco router at work. All colleagues have the privilege of free WiFi except myself. WiFi keeps on "obtaining ip address" mode. I double checked many times with the password.. Nothing. I used to connect normally with my Sony Xperia Z2 but I'm not lucky with the XA ultra.
Any help please.

Sony, PLEASE FIX THE WIFI AND BLUETOOTH ISSUES!!!!! How can it be that everyone that has an Xperia XA or XA Ultra also has router issues? I have a brand new Arris Surfboard 6900 and every single wireless device in my home works with it except my XA Ultra phone. The phone constantly drops the signal and has authentication problems. Anyone else who comes to my home has no problem connecting to my internet with their non-Sony phones. Also, my Plantronics bluetooth earpiece constantly disconnects during a call. I love Sony products and own many, and would like to remain a lifetime customer. I had an Xperia ZL before this phone and never had a problem with it. I would really like to keep this phone but YOU REALLY NEED TO GET THESE ISSUES RESOLVED ASAP!!!! Thank you.

I just migrate from Xperia Z3+ to XA1 Ultra and having the same problem. Wifi connection either not available or connected but no internet access. The only way I can by pass this is to manually reset the bluetooth, turn it off then on.

The Z3+, in the exactly same environment, does not have the wifi/bluetooth compatibility issue.

I'm getting the same issue regardless where and what wifi network I connect to. Sony, fix this issue! WiFi only works if Bluetooth is off. This is complete garbage. Regretting this phone, and will never buy another Sony phone if this persists.

My wife has been having this issue on her XA for weeks. Thanks for the Bluetooth workaround tip! Found potential fix over at XDA, changing the wifi router authentication to include TKIP protocol. We've made the change, but can't report on stability yet.

Having same issues with wifi, keeps dropping and refusing to sign back on. I reset the phone and it works for a short while then drops. This is a home network, my iPhone never drops, neither do my computers. Only the Sony ultra xa. It's funny how this so called Sony representative is so smug in his answers. Thanks to the user who gave a heads up about turning off Bluetooth. Sony thus us a glitch on your part, please resolve the issue, we bought the phones, we expect them to work. This will be my last Sony phone.

Then I can make sense of the rest of what's happening without that garbage interfering
