XA2 Ultra latest update to 50.1.A.5.59 as stopped SMART LOCK WORKING CORRECTLY

My device updated on the 30/03/18 and since then the SMART LOCK function as not been working correctly. After a restart the settings for the SMART LOCK function are blank, I have found a temporary solution in an older thread /t5/Xperia-XZ1-Compact/Smart-Lock-empty-after-update/m-p/1268741#M450 ,which indicates this is an ongoing issue with Andriod 8.0.

I do not understand though, that my device that came with 8.0 from the start as worked with SMART LOCK for over a month since I got it with no problem, but since it updated the other day to include the 1 March 2018 security patch level, SMART LOCK is now no longer working correctly. Also the above thread link as been going on since October 2017 with users experiencing the same problem since then.

As anyone else's XA2/XA2 Ultra recently updated and is having the same issue with the SMART LOCK function?

Thanks for confirming the same issue. Weird how it just started working on its own, maybe its something to do with a third party app, maybe even one of Google's.

it seems to me that it's somehow related to Google Play Services or some other Google app, since sometimes Smart Lock options will appear, and other times the menu will be blank.

Hi I had only just realised that my smartlock wasn't working due to the security update. I have restored my phone to the 7th march and is now working completely. I suggest restoring to the 7th or before. Hope this helps.

Security updates is code being added to your phone that updated pre-existing code or adds additional code. It's obvious that the Google's monthly security patch broke a security feature on our phones.

I don't know which is better. Getting security benefits to our phones and another feature doesn't work or outdates security code, but keep feature.

This is technology now unfortunately. Google Nexus Bootloops, Samsung battery explosions, Apple iPhone X camera lens cracks plus purposely slowing down phones. No one company is perfect. Look at cars, they aren't perfect and they've been building for decades. Want to know why? Consumers don't give them time to make thinks perfect. Consumers are always pushing on having the latest and greatest and then some and then some again. This means more testing in the same amount of time. So that means hiring more people. Probably a reason why phones and cars retail prices continue to sky rocket.

SMART LOCK needs to be fixed!

Every time I restart my phone Smart Lock disapears....

Yes I know how to disable the trusted agent and reboot again, back to settings to check to see if its there. Its getting really anoying, almost to the point I may start looking for a new phone.

Smart Lock dont work, and screen is white.

Hi I have a problem. When I try to go in Smart Lock I enter my password and screen is white. Maybe doesn't work correctly. And I searching for a solve the problem. Can anyone help.
