Hi @James67, thank you for your question.

The specifications for the Xperia XA shows that the device supports SD cards with a size of up to 256 GB, however as @Strampke wrote, bigger sizes may be supported, but in such cases quality and performance cannot be guaranteed.

Most of the time 256 GB is more than enough and the best value for GB vs cost is usually around 64/128 GB.
