Xperia 1 III - Noise Cancelling wired headphones - issues

Hi everybody,

I just got my Xperia 1 III and I tried to use my old Sony Noise Cancelling headphones MDR-NC31E, and I'm getting error that these headphones are not compatible with my device.

After closing this error message, music continues to play on speakers.

Any other random generic wired headphones are working normally.

Is there anything I can do to trick my phone to use these headphones?

Those earphones are designed to work with the 4 pin pole layout of Xperia z2-xz series.

Since the noise cancellation feature was removed with Xperia 1 series, those earphones will no longer function as the phone will not correctly determine the correct pole layout Vs normal 3.5mm poles.

As long as there are other headphones work with the phone , then this is a compatibility issue and I don't think it has a solution unfortunately .
