Xperia iii and RODE Videomicro Mic

I have an Xperia 1ii and RODE Videomicro Mic with the correct connecting cable. The mic works when I use the Simple Voice Recorder app but not when I try to use it with recording video. Does anyone know why and how to fix it? I'd be really grateful Thanks. Greg D

Can you check if you need to enable a specific permission for the Mic on the camera app if that's what you're using to record videos

have you checkled if the mic supports a TRS system

I know for mics etc it needs a TRS to TRRS cable

my mic came with a converter to do just that and its a cheapo one from ammazon
