Hi everyone, i am new here. Recently I have bought a new xperia zl. Actually, love the phone.

Oh, ya, after buying, i updated it to the last software available. After updating, I tried to take some pictures with it.

I was surprised that the picture size is only around 2.3 mb. My xperia arc with 8 Megapixel can produce a picture, the size of which is about 2.3 mb. Is there anything wrong with ZL?

there's nothing wrong with your phone

try different settings and places, I get pictures from 1MB to almost 5MB with my Xperia Z, it has to do with a lot of factors (colors and light in the picture).

And other factors, like a high level of JPEG compression, can affect the quality as well.

Megabytes tells you how much space a photo takes up on your hard drive, and has nothing to do with your camera's megapixels. The same photo, saved at different JPEG quality levels, will yield wildly different file sizes in megabytes.
