Xperia Z2 microphone not working in call

My Xperia Z2 (D6503) Android 5.1.1 - has problem in microphone. When I make a call, people can't hear me. But when I use Audio Recoder, the microphone works fine. I wonder if my microphone is broken or not, because it still work fine in Audio Recorder. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks!

Hi @pebeo3112,

That sounds strange. Could you restart your phone into safe mode then test the microphone in Settings > About phone > Diagnostics to see if it works then?

Test microphone, and it doesn't work. But when use Audio Recording, it works fine. So if the microphone broken? Why does it still work in Audio Recorder?

Hi, I have a xperia z2, after i updated to OS: 5.1.1 this happens

Mic does not work on: diagnostic test, whatsapp, google now, youtube search or anything like

the mic does work: camera record, voice record

Already repaired with pc companion, already toogled off google now voice, turned off clear audio, and a lot of other stuffs.

It may be hardware? but why on 4.4 worked fine? and why video and voice record works fine? please help, 3 days looking for solution.

Repair the phone with PCC > test the phone > settings > about phone > diagnostics

make sure to NOT install any app after repairing the phone with PCC

Is not working, trying bootloader now, there is no warrancy anymore anyway, i've looking in the web, there is a lot of ppl with the same problem

Hi, i found a temporary solution till i have money to fix in case of hardware issue, it worked for calls only, i downloaded from google play:

Downloaded "Sound About" and on PHONE CALL AUDIO select SPEAKER, at start of using, it will give you some noise or hearing of your voice, but it stoped for me and its working.

@pebeo3112 In that case I suggest that you try to perform a software repair using PC Companion. If that does not help however then you should get in touch with your Local support team in order to get your phone examined further.

I have same problem...
Mic doesn't work on call but work fine on Audio Recorder... this is because Audio Recorder work with secondary mic and Call work with primary mic, I think.

Maybe update on 6.0 will solve everything

Facing same problem, whenever I call or receive call I can listen to the one I am talking to very well..but my voice never reaches properly to others in my lolipopb updatef Xperia z2 is there any solutions? Plz share some solution

If neither safe mode nor software repair using PC Companion help then I do suggest that you contact your Local support teams so that your phones can be sent to an authorised service center for further examination at this point.

Same here! The other party cant hear what im saying. Just after one year of purchase ths issue came. Now im using with a headset which is really anoying. please support asap. please write to me.

Hello,

I have the same problem with my Sony Z2 when i upgrated to Android 5.1.1.

It worked normally in Android 5.0 and 4.4.4,

So i knew for sure that the problem came from the software.

When i made a phone call, the audio was not clear, especially someone who received the call couldn't hear clearly as I did.

I used the newest Xperiafirm and Flashtool to set up my phone again, but the problem couldn't be solve.

Now i dont know how to do with this problem, It's really tired of shouting whenever have a phone call !

Hi All,

Now I 've already solved the problem with my phone Z2,

After I used Sony PC Companion to repair software, turned off microphone noise supression in Settings >> Call >> Microphone noise suppression \Off

And got the great result!
