I had a similar issue with playing bluetooth music to my car stereo. I asked and then argued with Sony about it who always claimed it was the fault of my car's stereo despite it working fine with my previous devices.

After some research on my own i can tell you tha the current 4.2 version of Android on the Z1 doesn't support the correct Bluetooth AVRCP protocol to send out this information. If it is working in only a specific app it is probably because that app has had it added manually by it's developers instead of relying on the version provided by Android 4.2. and seeing you are using two Sony devices it wouldnt suprise me if this didn't work.

Good news is that Android 4.3 does support the crrect profiles so once Sony upgrades the Z1 to 4.3 it will hopefully resolve this problem. Which is why i preusme the Nexus 4 works ok.

Hi, I have SBH52 and Z1. When I play locally stored music with the Walkman app the display on the SBH52 show Artist and Song, but if I play music form Music Unlimited, Spotify, Google Play Music or Audible, I get no info on the display on the SBH52. I have tried the SBH52 on a Z Ultra, same result, but when I tried it on a Nexus 4, I got info from all the apps.

Have tried resetting my Z1 and SBH52, didn't help.

Is Sony aware of this bug and will there come a fix?
