Charging a Series E mp3 player via a USB to plug socket adaptor

I need to know if it is possible to safely charge a Sony E Series mp3 player by connecting the usb lead into a normal plug socket adaptor, such as is used for a mobile phone. I have a Sony mobile, and it would be really useful to charge the mp3 by this method when on the go and away from my computer.

I often use my mobile phone charger to charge many of the products that I travel with. If you take my advice it would be at your own risk.

The other option you could consider would be to purchase a travel charger that matches the power input ratings of you Walkman.
