It will whirr and grunt a little but shows that there is no disc present. Funnily enough, it will play a DVD perfectly! Don't know if it will burn a DVD because I don't have any blanks.<BR /><BR />I have uninstalled and re-installed the driver, and even the VAIO diagnostic tool will not work on this one because it says there is no disc present to test.... aaagh!!
