I know nothing about this device but have had similar problems with CNC equipment.

COM1 & 2 may be reserved for a docking station and COM3 or 4 could be used for the internal modem. I would try setting the USB adapter as COM5 - 8 and try setting the program to use those ports.

Also, make sure that the speed is set to 9600 baud and the receive & transmit buffers are set to low.

Has anyone any advice or ideas on a problem i am currently having getting a usb to serial adapter cable to work correctly on my A215Z, The cable is needed to connect a pc interface used to download from my suunto scuba diving computer, i cannot get the thing to work i have installed the drivers that came with the adapter cable and can find it in device manager where it assigns itself as com1 but now matter what i try i cannot get the dive computers pc interface to connect with its software through the adapter cable, the software will only use com ports 1 to 8 so does anyone know what these port numbers are used for by the laptop ?? or has anyone with a simaler laptop solved this problem for themselves ??
