HI, I have my A217S for a couple of weeks and I've a problem with my dvd player. I can the sound but no images!

Any idea ti fix that?

yep I did that! but it doesn't work. I updated the mpeg encoder driver and ATI driver too...:smileycry:

Does this happen with every disc you try and play or just certain ones?

Which program are you using to play DVD's? Try reinstalling WinDVD.

I try to reinstall windvd but it doesn't work. Finally, I decided to remove all software related to dvd (nero and dvd shrink) and now it works. I don't understand why but it works!

The latest version of Nero is know to cause some problems with DVD playback on certain VAIOs, especially if SP2 has been installed!

DVD shrink and Alcohol are also known to cause issues as some recent software will not work with them installed..... ......this is because their function is dubious as they can be used to make illegal copies of movies etc!

anyway I suspect nero is the cause of my problem.

I didn't trys dvdshrink with alcohol but try that later

Alcohol 120% can stop the use of the eject key.
