WEBCAM AND MIC STOPPED WORKING Suddenly (VGN-SR19XN)

webcam and mic stopped working suddenly.
#Arcsoft webcam companion 2 says:
(webcam not found..used by anothr.)
*i tried other programmes like msn,skype.. it doesnt work

#its no more listed on device manager(i tried check for new hardware)doesn't work.. no question marked device or anything

#i tried system restore..doesn't work

my operating system vista business SP2 (VGN-SR19XN)

Pls pls.. HELP Me..

Hi mdrock_123 and welcome.

Your camera uses the generic Microsoft Drivers and is only shown in Device Manager when it is in use.

Press the Windows key and press R. Type MSCONFIG into the run box and select the STARTUP Tab. Check that Arcsoft is installing the camera on startup.

Have you installed the updated camera firmware 3422 dated April 2010? You can find it here: -

*i tried msconfig but found nothing related to arcsoft or webam on Startup

*i tried installing the firmware but it says '' Camera Device Not Found''

*BTW.. on the device manager Under Portable Device Tab There are 2 WPD file system device(don't know it has anything to do with )
