s buttons sony vaio vgn-fw21s/b

I iscovered yesterday that my S1 and S2 buttons on my VAIO VGN-FW21S/B are not working (although the message showing I pressed them still appears, but nothing happens afterward).
I tried System Restore, reinstalling Vaio Control Center ...nothing.When I open Control Center I can't find the S button menu , to associate programs for S1 and S2.
I don't want to reinstall Vista.....so....is there any suggestion about how can I assign programs to S1 and S2 buttons? Maybe thru reistry, but which are the registry keys to modify??

All I can suggest is to check that all the latest versions of the supporting utilities for Vaio Control Centre are installed.

As a last resort you may have to consider reinstalling the operating system.

U were right...I reinstalled Setting Utility Series...and that's all. It appears that in Windows 7 S buttons are disabled!!Pay attention!
