On 20 December Sony will (maybe) announce the new release date:

According to the Sony US website, you need the SonicStage 2.3 update (which also updates the Music Transfer program) in conjunction with firmware update!

One concession i will make to apple, there is one point of download for Ipod and they don't pre-announce anything, just do it and everyone says thanks (apart from the shortcomings of battery and poor audio quality!)

i was thinking about that, but i now i REALLY like how it works, i love the g-pad and the UI is really neat, no matter what everybody says! so if the update doesn't come out, well i guess i'll just have to reencode my 22 gb of music... BUT it'll be worth it cause the Vaio is great!!:smileygrin:

Ist es wirklich ein Grund "Hurra" zu schreien, wenn Sony grosszügig ankündigt, so kurz nach der Auslieferung, 34 Fehler+Verbesserungen zu beseitigen???

Wo würde man sich das sonst noch gefallen lassen.
Oder würde jemand ein Auto kaufen und dann Hurra rufen, wenn einem der Hersteller nach 4 Wochen sein Werkzeug zur Verfügung stellt um 34 Fehler (+Verbesserungen) selbst zu beheben?
Ist es denn heute schon normal, dass man unausgereifte Produkte auf den Markt wirft um schnell zu kassieren und dann in Ruhe die Reklamationen abzuwarten. Es eilt dann auch nicht, bezahlt ist ja schon.

Mein Pocket ist seit Nov. beim Sony Service, weil eine Laufzeit von knapp 4 Stunden und eine totale Akku-Entleerung in 3 Tagen (ohne Benutzung) nicht ausreichend ist und auch nicht der vollmundigen Werbung entspricht.
Auf der Internetseite unter Rep. Status steht seit über 3 Wochen "Ihr Vaio ist auf dem Weg zum Reparaturzentrum".
Verflucht nochmal, bringen die ihn etwa zu Fuss hin?
Bei der Hotline gibts nur freundliche, aber völlig Ahnungslose Mitarbeiter, die einem versprechen, dass sie sich darum kümmern und sofort zurückrufen. Nur hat es bis heute keiner getan!
Dann hab ich gebeten das Gerät unfertig zurück zu senden, damit ich es beim Verkäufer zurückgeben kann..........bis heute keine Reaktion. Und das bei einem 14 Tage alten Gerät!!!
Somit kann ich jedem nur raten, im Garantiefall nicht zum Sony -Service sondern gleich zurückgeben. Oder, auch wenn es manchmal schwer fällt, zu warten bis die ersten Fehlerwellen durch und beseitigt sind.

Mein englisch ist leider nicht gut genug um diesen Beitrag ohne Blamage zu übersetzen. Aber schlussendlich befinde ich mich ja auf der deutschen Forumseite.

@bert: Zunächst einmal hast du recht, ich bin auch über DE in diese Forumseite gelangt, also sehe ich für deutsch kein Problem, wenn dann ist es sonys Problem. Zu deiner Rekla, kann ich dir nur folgendes sagen. Ich hatte so ein Problem mit nem DVD, nach 5 Anrufen bei Service ohne Erfolg, habe ich mich zwei Schritte weiter nach oben begeben zu den Vorgesetzten Abteilungsleitern und war sehr ungemütlich. Nach anfänglicher Wartezeit von 4 Wochen, war ein neuer Player ohne Fehler innerhalb von 3 Tagen bei mir. Druckmachen! Das hilft!

Sony never promised the Firmware by the middle of December, they just said, that more information about the update would be available by the middle of December. And yesterday we got the news, that the update will be available on the 20th of December. I'm very anxious what this 34 updates will be for, or to be precise, what the 29 not not described updates will do!

I have the LOTR audiobook on my pocket (the 46 CD Version by Inglis) and each cd is on Track, so each Track is about 72 minutes long.
When stopping the Track somwhere beyond 51 minutes, it starts again at 12 or 13 minutes 😕

I hope that will be fixed

But despite some minor Problems, not worth mentioning my vaio ist really nice!!
