The first thing I would want to rule out is if this "going into standby" is part of the products intergral energy saving system. Many of the new Bravia switch into idle or standby mode after a period of time of inactiviy in front of the screen. It would be worth turning this off (just to test) and see if the issue persists.

Also, when it switched to standby does the LED on the front of the unit flash at all? If so then I would recommend returning the unit to the retailer as this usually indicates an issue.

Hope this helps

Thats a fair point, I am sure its in the instructions somewhere, but for reference the 'Idle TV Standby' setting can be found in the 'System Settings' then 'Eco' It is just under the 'Power Save' option.

Regards

Lee
