UBP-X800 - no Atmos

Hi all,

EDIT - initially, I thought I have problem only with one 4K disc, but apparently none 4K BD which I have are playing Atmos track. It shows only Dolby True HD on the output. DTS:X is fine.

I have Denon AVR2300 with 5.1.2 speakers.

I'm assuming problem is in the X800, since AVR is not detecting Atmos coming from the player.

I played with audio settings, BD Audio Mix Setting is off, DRC setting is auto currently.

EDIT2: I did power off everything, wait few minutes, on again. I also did factory reset of X800.

None of that helped.

I also tried to play Dolby Atmos samples via USB, they show as DD+ in the output, no Atmos.

The same samples play as Atmos, when played via Nvidia Shield, so it's not AVR problem for sure.

Any ideas what can be done with that?

Can you check that the firmware on your Blu-ray player is up todate?

Yes, I checked, it says already updated.

I opened the case with support, most likely the unit will be replaced.

I got replacement unit yesterday, tested just briefly, but seems to be OK now.

Somewhat weird.

I even called and asked what was wrong, but they only told me that it was motherboard issue, no specifics.
