Hello,
I have a weird issue where I have discovered a hairline scratch on my new Xperia 1 II back glass only it seems to be underneath the glass and not the top.
I have ran my fingernail and it is smooth, it's very hard to notice unless you view it on a certain angle and with some light.
See below on the right hand side bottom of the glass it seems to a small line that slight curves and then to the left of it is like a dot scratch.
Some help on this please I hope the phones integrity isn't compromised and it's fully ip68 fictional it seems it may be cosmetic but I'm wondering what caused it on the underside of the glass.
Unless this has been a certified repair job by Sony themselves and they kinda slipped up?
Solved! Go to Solution.
The paint's applied to the underside of the glass, so it's inside.
Just report it to Sony, as a fault, or the retailer, and get it replaced it if bothers you.
It won't affect the integrity, it's just a flaw in the paint job.
most likely happened when assembling.
Agreed with the Fox Breath dude.
Just looks like a cosmetic error when the paint was applied.
In my view your retailer should replace it within first few months (British law says the RETAILER is responsible for issues with the product within the first year-unless your purchased it from CPW and they will try to duck and dive out of that like crazy) If you are from the USA, out of the first 28 days the manufacturer then deals with warranty.
Mate i would exchange it if I were you anyway as think of it like this, what happens next year when the next Sony range is out and you either want to part-ex or sell this one? Anyone purchasing it will notice this defect and give you less for it.
Cheers

Thanks for getting back.
I agree, although it was just cosmetic it's still a sight for sore eyes and when it comes to resale, I guess I would have shot myself in the foot as it would be hard to sell.
I managed return it, but I gotta say excellent phone by Sony , the SD 865 rocks on it , you can really tell.
