Latest 55.1.A.3.107 firmware I have been undertaking extensive testing
(Videos will be uploaded to my channel later today)
Here is a Summary.
Normal camera as app
(All tests are with H.265 compression)
Test 1 4k Stability OFF HDR off
Much better stability than from first few firmware releases, not by any means optimal , but a sight better. Well done sony!
Test
Stability ON HDR off
Oddly performance is slightly WORSE than with stability off.
Test 3
Stability Off HDR on
Stability is worse not usable without a gimbal
test 4
Stability on HDR on
Worst result of all totally unusable, note this is what you would get in Cinema Pro but with 21:9
Conclusion there has been a marked progress, since initial firmware as case in point the initial firmware lacked stability in 1080p HDR only had it in normal 1080p
Sony reps and mods can you please explain my findings?
Not tos that I'm ungrateful for the massive progress since first release, however it would be cool to finally get 4 ok sorted in all aspects for good.
Why does,HDR perform worse stability wise than no HDR?
Why does stability off in normal camera app perform better than stability on?
I'm still waiting on the update, odd it hasn't arrived on my phone which is unlocked.
Excellent post though
Will post a video on my Youtube channel later but i will have to use Sony Vegas suite to put them all in one video.
So there is hope about 4k, dont dispair
Will psot link as soon as i get my phone back from daughter.

Disappointing
I hoped they finally fixed 4k recording bugs...
How come Xperia 1 is worse than all previous flagships when it comes to 4k recording???
STANDBY for a new video folks
I have found out EXACTLY what is causing the problem, CLUE: It was EXACTLY what I said it was FROM DAY ONE, but was ignored.
FURTHER CLUE
Sony's implimentation of OIS+EIS on the SAME lens=disaster and now i have the proof!
Video coming up later tonight to demonstrate this
