Hi
Ower Sony Xperia 1 has been stolen. 😞
Sadly, we did not register it at sony before.
Is there any way to"lock" it anyway and which information do we need?
Is the serial number enough?
Thx
Christian
Doesn't matter if you registered it at Sony, that means nothing.
You phone the network, tell them the IMEI number, and call the police as well, report it, and given them the IMEI number.
And then get a crime reference number if one is available, for reporting it to your insurance company for a claim, if needed.
Did you try calling, it, or using Find my Device, as you can lock it, ring it, or wipe it, etc from there.?
THX
We informed police of course.
Our service provider told us, he can lock the sim card only.
Locking the phone could only done by SONY.
We try to locate it, with no result.
Regards
Christian
I'm pretty sure that's incorrect.
My son had his phone stolen earlier this year, and it was bought sim free from Amazon, but he uses PAYG on GiffGaff.
He reported it stolen and they blocked the IMEI number, and sim card.
IMEI is a universal number, not a retailer/supplier number.
Well, I checked that.
Here in germany there is no way to block mobiles any more.😣
Our Service Provider is vodafone, and the do not serve calls to lock IMEIs.
They did it in the past, by there was not enough customer response.
Telekom offers to block IMEIs from using there network - that's all.
