Xperia 10 screen shuts off

Hi, my brand new xperia 10 has suddenly decided to turn the screen off constantly. The phone is not off, but the screen goes blank. Please help.

Blank or black?

Did you check screen sleep time or does it happen while you're touching the screen.

Does it happen in safe mode too?

Did it happen on the home screen.

Does it happen in certain apps?

Did you test the proximity sensor with the support app?
