Why are so many functions disabled on my NEX 3

Why are so many of the functions disabled on my new NEX 3 ?  How can I enable them?

the slow flash is disabled in my camera, how do i enable it? same with the rear flash.

Also, I have a problem with the flash, it flashes 3 times when i use it, do you know how can i set it for a single flash?

I think it's related to the shoot mode your are using. When using the "intelligent automatic" mode, most of the other options (flash options for example) are greyed out.  Try using different modes such as A (Aperture priority) or S (Shutter  priority) or even M (Manual exposure) and more options should become available.

Multi Flashes:

Probably it's related to the "red eye reduction" setting.

Check: [Menu] -> [Setup] -> [Red Eye Reduction] -> [On / Off]
