Since our TV auto updated the software recently we have had trouble where the brightness changes between scenes. On bright scenes the backlight will decrease and on darker scenes it will increase, it looks like it's solely a backlight adjustment. We haven't changed any settings and keep the auto contrast off. We usually have the ambient light sensor on but turning it off doesn't fix the problem. Power saving is also set to off.
After the update we have a message on the tv saying "new features available" does anyone know if a new setting has been introduced which needs turning off or if this is a system bug which will be updated soon?
Thanks
Here are the photos of my settings. Power saving is set to OFF. There is also a link to a video showing an example of the problem
mmm, i am not sure I understood from the video which is the defect you are trying to highlight..
In any case you have a tons of algorithms activated (light sensor, black adjust, live color, reality creation, noise reduction) and other setting that are not clear why you changed (sharpness, black level, color)
By resetting the tv, I mean also leave the preset and see how it works before changing anything to your desire...
In the video you can see when the scene changes from the light scene to the dark scene and back again there is a lighting adjustment. The first frame or two of each scene is how it should look then the tv automatically makes adjustments to try to ‘normalise’ the brightness levels.
My original point being that in 2 years the tv never did this until now. The only thing which has changed is the firmware. No settings have been adjusted that would have caused this to start happening.
Later, I’ll upload a video of the same scenes being played through a different screen to highlight what it should be like.
I did try it on different picture presets (which I have never adjusted and left the values as default) and yes the problem is universal.
