KDL 55W809C boot loop

Hi all,

I just got back from a trip tonight and noticed that my TV is now in a boot loop (white update led loop). I have tried to factory reset (power + vol. button) - the green light turns on but the system remains in the boot loop.

I have seen that many people have reported boot loop issues for this over time. Is there a better recommended procedure for this?

I tried a couple of things so far to fix this:

- redid the power + vol.down reset procedure five times with all devices and wifi disconnected

- downloaded update to memory stick and tried to update via stick (in USB-1)

I am a software engineer and have been in a project with an Android TV a few years back (not Sony though), and to me this looks like an update that was downloaded last week for which I postponed the update got triggered for install while I was away. This then failed and put the TV into an infinite boot loop, and the factory reset function for the TV has also ceased to function. Is that about right and is there anything else I can try to fix this?
