Video recorder sony DCR-Hc18E

Hi

i have a dcr- Hc18e sony recorder. First i can not connect to pc with windows 10, 11 and and even 8.1. It said no device connection. What shall i do? Shall i have only windows xp? If so how or what to do?

hey, I think it's only compatible with Windows 2000/Windows Me/
Windows XP Windows 98/Windows 98SE, Also, you need to install a software on the computer, it comes with the camera on a CD.

Read about Compatibility Mode.

Hope this helps you without the need to install an XP version or something.

USB connection need Drivers (no more available), you have to buy an external FireWire > USB Board, after that you can import the Video with the program WinDV:

FireWire is also know like i.LINK (Sony) or IEEE1394, FireWire no need Drivers.
