SA-NS510 connectivity issues on iPhone / ipad

I've purchased the SA-NS510 wi-fi speaker.

I'm experiencing issues with connectivity. I have 40mb bt fibre optic broadband which I have no issues connecting to with other devices.  When I first turn on the device after a reset I can find it in my wireless devices on my ipad / iPhone and I then connect to it in the app but when I use airplay it seems to take an age to start playing through the speaker.  I'm after instant music that I can turn on as soon as I get home without having to play around with settings or reconnecting the device and I don't seem to get that with this speaker?

Also I want both my ipad and iPhone connected to the device but if I want to change from device to device I have to pick the speaker up, reset it and then reconnect through the app inputting my wireless network key in all over again, this can't be right can it?
