Fast Battery drain and slow Charging issue

Hi,

I'm using this Sony Experia L1 for almost 8 months. Everything was almost alright but a day or two ago the device started draining charge too fast and with the default Sony charger it seems the device gets charged toooo slow, like 20-80 mA. The voltage is also low 3.5-3.8.

Hi @ConvictKing, sorry to hear about this. Slightly_frowning_Face

Have you tried charging the device when it's powered off or restarted in safe mode? Just to make sure that an application isn't more battery than it should which then translates to the device charging slower / battery is drained faster.

In safe mode, all downloaded applications are temporarily disabled, but they will be enabled again once you restart the device, so it's just for testing purpose! Slightly_smiling_Face

If a friend, family member or colleague also have an Xperia device, you can ask them if you can borrow their charger and see if there is any change, if the above troubleshooting does not help.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi @Jonas,

I'm listing up the following things I've tried.

1. I tried my cousin's sony charger with my cable.

2. I tried his cable with my charger.

3. His charger and cable.

4. Charged in safe mode.

5. Charged while powered off.

6. Currently I put on Stamina mode.

After trying all these, both the issues remained the same. I asked a local mechanic, he says it's probably a battery issue. He advised to change the battery. I don't know what I'm gonna do!

Hi again @ConvictKing and thank you so much for this information!

It may the battery that is faulty, however I would recommend that you try and perform a software repair using Xperia Companion, just so we can make sure that this is not related to the software in the device.

If you however experience the same behaviour even after the repair, get in touch with your Local support team and they will arrange a repair for you, so a trained technician can examine your device.

Keep me posted!
