Sony Xperia L1 lock screen sounds will not stop

My new Sony Xperia L1 continues to have lock screen sounds even though I have turned them off. It even makes the sounds in Do Not Disturb mode, but they do quit when I turn off the sound volume. Please, how can I fix this???
