Hi everyone,
I recently bought a sony Xperia L1 and a couple things have been off.
Initally I had to reset my network settings in order for the phone to recognise my BT headphones.
But now i've come to find that it also will not cast. Now I know the stick is ok as that too is brand new. So what else could it be?
I've gone through the usual protocol of resetting things, turning them on and off and so on. But nothing works.
Has anyone got a clue?
I really don't want to hard reset my phone for such a minor issue.
Cheers
Hey
I'm trying to cast from my Xperia L1, using the cast function built into the phone, to my firestick (or mirror my display). But it won't work.
So I tried to cast to the stick using another phone and it worked straight away.
For some reason my Xperia is unable to find the stick. Whereas other devices have no problem.
I can't figure it out
Trying to connect xperia l1 to my LG tv. Cast not working says no device found. Everyone else's devices connect no problem. Also with wi fi calling don't Seem to work. Starting. To regret getting this phone.
I have the same issue. Model G3311 - Android Version 7.0. Build 43.0.A.4.46
Cast does nothing (no devices shown) and there are no options to choose from. Also can't connect via WiFi direct to any android device.
yeah same as.. bought phone week ago cast says no devices found. seems to be a recurring theme here SONY hint hint... hint hint
same problem no wireless display function
A quick update whilst I try to find a resolve.
After speaking with an Xperia rep over the helpline, I was told that the issue is to do with my phones 'Bluetooth Profile'.
Apparently the only way this can be fixed is by visiting the phone shop and having someone fix it for you.
Luckily, this will probably cost nothing but a short journey.
I'll post the results 👍
There is no screen cast option. The "Cast Screen" option is there but there is a missing settings button to turn it on.
After much investigation, it would appear that Google has dropped the L1's (and other phone models) ability to mirracast to certain products eg the Amazon Fire stick. However, you can still chrome cast and use other streaming apps.
I for one am very displeased with this after buying an L1 myself and casting to my fire stick being one of my favourite functions.
