How to upgrade Xperia S to ICS ?

Hi, I have a simple question. Knowing that Android ICS V4.04 will be available by end of June, I am curious to know how to upgrade it. Can I do it by myself via PC Companion or other software ? Or is it necessary some special tool like a ROM programmer ? I just want to know if I will need to send my phone to a Service Center to be upgraded, that's what I heard from some friends.
