Should i be worried, apparently complaints are comming in already for this new tv on dark verticle lines either side of the screen!, i have seen this before on the LG i had that went back for a full refund as it was the area where the ribbon cable joins at the screen for the backlight (could be seen from the front) i had 3 of them and the engineer said its not right, heres the pics of the Sony.

Edited links to work properly (originally double http)
The faulty sets have reached Sweden as well. The set was tested at the shop, thanks to this forum, with the issue. No point bringing it home.
Hello everyone, I'm new here but I just had a quick question. This issue appears to be on the USA versions as well, ours are called the HX929. Anyway I was wondering if Sony is a where of this crease issue on our sets as well and if they will be applying the same exchanges and free 3D glasses for those of us who are also effected in the USA, thanks. US site but not much is going on there ATM. https://forum.sel.sony.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=9718
Hi Lee,
Thanks for the update. However, I am still confused:
Will those of us who rejected the HX923 pre-orders in-store (purchase and delivered to the dealer, just not delivered by the dealer to our homes) qualify for the free glasses?
When will crease free sets actually hit the Sony centres/dealers to replace the returned/rejected sets?
I pre-ordered my set back in May and we are now July - will there be any compensation for such a delay in getting a fault free set?
Cheers
JJ
Although I am interested in the cause of the crease/fault, I just want to know when a non-crease version will be delivered to my dealer, so he can deliver it to me, so I can actually start watching the TV that I paid for nearly two months ago!!!!
Because I QA'd the screen at my dealer before delivery and rejecetd it, I am guessing that I wont qualify for the free glasses compensation either:smileysad:
My own personal theory is that the creases are caused by the plastic strips that can be seen in this post: http://www.avforums.com/forums/14861890-post768.html
I just want to start enjoying my TV, comforted in the fact that I have a non-crease version working as it was designed to...is that too much to ask???
Cheers
JJ
Still no answer to when crease free units will be available.
Hi stillconcerned,
The update from StartTheCar is on page six.
I just wanted to say thank you to Lee for his positive communication and taking "responsibility" of the issue for us on this forum.
I also would like to add that so far my Sony Centre have also been really good with the whole issue.
As for the 2X free glasses a BIG THANK YOU
I still have mine if you wish to swop it out, my case id is 26735624

And Lee's post does not say when crease free sets will be available. Only that exchanges can be arranged.
i'm sure there will be enough to go round for everyone, replacements and new customers alike, the next batch was originally scheduled for August.
So have Sony finally got down to what the cause is of the crease for these TV's and are they going to spill the beans and let us know. Or are thet going to let the conspiracy theory carry on like the Who shot JFK? Also this new batch have the sorted the problem out as they have not actually said it's sorted. While they are testing the crease issue check for buzzing from the energy switch as a few people have reported that also on AV forum.
