Hi guys,
I've just been a trip to the US and when I was sent true the security scanner I had to put my A117s in a gray case so it could be scanned the man who took it put another case on top of it, even though I told him not to, anyways this resultet in a small scrats (bad spelling) on the top of the notebook, I got a claim paper which I need to fill out to get som money, how much shall I write what is the price (what do you think) on a paintjob or a new top of the screen ?

That A tricky One , most airline have very low claim limits .
I class small "scratchs" as war wounds ,
It could be worse though. I remember Steve said something happened to his at the airport and the case had cracked so he had to araldite it back together...
You are lucky thats all the damage you have ZyRaIN. Don't know how much a claim for this would be worth...
I'm not even sure they would pay out for this!
Airlines are quit tight when it comes to claims, the damadge has to be pretty severe!
I don't undertand why the security personnel are so heavy handed! I have had several items damadge by them! I know they have an important job to do but they should respect the fact that they are handling peaples personal property!

Cosmetic damage is not covered by warranty.
Thanks for all the answers.
The scrats is very very small and I can only see it in a special light.. soo I think i'll drop the claim..
Maybe not worth a claim, but certainly worth a letter of complaint regarding the procedures of the security personnel. Next time, their actions could break a screen or worse.
My problem was dropping the laptop out of the trolley (long storey)...ended up with the magnesium case around the screen breaking...a serious war wound!! Araldite to the rescue!
Good point Steve
