eugh. I am absolutely sick of trying to get technical support. After paying a hell of a lot of money I expect vaio links online support to be working or for them to answer the phone in a short amount of time (especially at 7p a minute!)

Anyhow, I am having trouble using eSupport on the Vaio Link website. It seems to insist it can't find my email address even though I have already registered. In fact I wouldn't be able to post here if that was the case. Do Sony have just a plain old email address I could contact them through?
My niggles with my latop, just in case anyone can shed some light on the problems
- The DVD burner is stuck in PIO mode. This makes reading a DVD increadibly painful. 2 hours compared to less than 1 on my friends PC. Verifying burns in Nero seems to take just as long if not longer.
- Doing crouch jumps in Half Life is impossible! I know this isn't a laptop made for gaming but please. It seems the keyboard will only register two key presses at once.
Thanks for any help.
when you say it's stuck I presume you mean you have attempted to change to DMA but you're computer won't allow you to?
If not you need to go into device manager and find IDE ATA/ATAI Controlers, expand and change the primary and secondary (if you have one) to DMA where aviable in advanced settings.
As for you're other problem all I can sugest is attempting to update or re install the drivers.
yeah I know what you mean. It's through the device manager I tried changing the settings. I changed it to 'Use DMA if availalble' but it's still stuck in PIO.
I think the keyboard may be a hardware limitation. I don't believe the keyboard has its own custom driver. Although I can't be 100% sure. That is why it would be nice to get though to Sony some how.
Delete the controller, reboot and allow the computer to redetect them - they should revert to the correct settings
Great! It works! Thank you so much. I can't believe it was something so simple
