After 2 years I thought here is the time to do it
Pictures are ready to create a how-to-do thingy, I'll create a webpage if anyone interesting...
That would be great
That's enough for me
Tomorrow....
This would indeed be good as this is one of the few Vaio series that is lacking in disassembly instruction. Best of luck and look forward to seeing the results.
Holy cow! I just realised I can't use the company network to reach my ftp site
I did all the job, everithing is ready but can't upload 'cos I'm in the Nile delta in a camp at the moment and getting home just in January...
Anyway, taking apart the PCG-FR215H is easy, just remove all necessary screws from the bottom, then open the LCD, fold it down as much as you can. Now comes the only tricky part:
have to remove the speaker's panel... There are four small spring-operated "latches". One is at the ESC key, one at the right side of F5 key, one at the left side of the F11 key and the last is at the Del Key. If you press those keys down, you'll find them easily... Just use a suitable screwdriver to push them toward the LCD and gently lift the panel same time. Nothing around them so no worry to fu... err, damage anything if you don't use high force, even the LCD cable runs under it from the right to the left... A flat cable goes to the main switch of the speaker, so when lift up the panel, watch this.
After this just remove all the screws you see, and it falling apart
Sorry about this crap, I had no idea I can't use our satellite network... or maybe the server is down....
Ok, I managed somehow to get in, so you'll find the text and pictures on
http://condrix.fw.hu
under the English version, somewhere in the menu...
Comments would be appreciated...
Excellent guide
