DVD Drive....

Hi there,

I recently bought a Vaio A197VP. All is fine apart from...

The DVD drive reads CDs fine, but only appears to recognise DVDs about 1 time in 10, once it's recognised that you have inserted a DVD it works fine, otherwise nothing at all!

I have tried running the various updates on the Vaio update site with no difference, I have not yet had a chance to install SP2, but I doubt this would help?

Any thoughts? Stuck!

If you are sure that the DVDs aren't faulty or damaged then I would telephone Vaio-Link and arrange a pickup & repair. The contact details are at the Vaio-Link site
