Hi there,
I have recently bought a K315Z and am having problems when doing the simplest of things. I cannot have more than 2/3 applications open at once (outlook, internet, word) without the computer locking and taking loads of time to perform my requested task. When i push send in outlook it takes a couple of minutes and even when going to access the control panel it has to load for a period!
Please can anyone help as this should not be happening on a machine like this and the DELL one I use at work never has these problems with many powerful applications open.
Cheers,
Ian:smileyconfused:
Depends on what you want to run and how much RAM you have installed.
Ensure your system fan and thermal control strategy is set to "Performance" mode - if it isn't then your CPU will only be working at just over half its operating capacity... I'll post instructions how to change/check this if you need them.
Okay,
Last week I was having temperature issues and when the fan was on performance my laptop was doing the same thing but also running at 68 degrees constantly.
I switched the power option to battery life and the fan quietened down a lot and the operating temp fell by 10 degrees also.
So I have left it on that as I have exactly the same problems as before.
Sometimes when the system is taking ages or locks I, ctrl+alt+delete and it seems to get it going again. The icons even have to load in control panel!!
Just put it back onto performance and the laptop is running at 71 degrees.
Oh yeah the laptop is only 1 month old so fans shouldn't need cleaning i would guess.
Please help!
Sounds like it needs to go back to VAIo Link for repairs.
