Lost DVD R

Hi I had to change the DVD/WR in my Vaio RZ502P and now it can no longer see the DVD/R but only the new writer. I know it is a matter of slave and master but would appreciate some help in correcting this.

when you installed the new drive , did you set it to slave or master you have to set them by changing the little white block , which should be placed over some pin's next to where your ide cable conect's ( if it has ide )

you might what to go to the bio's and check to see what they are set as restart your machine and press f2 every second or so , it will say what device is in master ect
