Mini DV playback on my VIAO

Hi, I have a PCG-FR315S with Windows XP Home and would like to playback directly from my Sony Mini DV (TRV33) recordings and view it on the VIAO screen.
I have only the USB cable, can it be done?
Help please..

I think it needs to be downloaded to the hard disk first
