Hi Oliver and welcome.

What model Vaio do you have?

Is it still within Warranty?

Have you tried entering your Serial Number here?  Just click on 'Vaio and Computing' and it will ask for your Serial Number: -

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/contacts

It will then offer your options to contact Vaio Support.

Hi Oliver,

Rich912 has reminded me that CTO models - ones that are configured yourself online - may have a special Serial Number that is not recognised.

Did you buy your model online and choose the features you wanted?

Hi Oliver.

Sorry I did not answer your last post.

I have emailed Sony to ask how to get round your problem but they do not work at weekends!

Hopefully I will get an answer tomorrow and I will post any information here.

Hi Oliver.

Have you had a look here: -

The bit ‘Method 2: Rebuild BCD using the Bootrec.exe tool.’ looks interesting!

Thanks to Rich912 for the link.
