I'm sure some people's patience will be wearing thin on this subject, but would appreciate any advice you can offer!!
My VGN-FS285M's Pioneer CD/DVD drive won't recognise any data or audio cd at all. It will whirr and grunt a little but shows that there is no disc present. Funnily enough, it will play a DVD perfectly! Don't know if it will burn a DVD because I don't have any blanks.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the driver, and even the VAIO diagnostic tool will not work on this one because it says there is no disc present to test.... aaagh!! Must admit I don't have cleaning disk since I've only had the computer for a few weeks - would a clean help?
Can anyone help before I have go to Sony for a replacement?
May be its possible that these cds are unsupported?! I can't burn with my vaio some dvd's.
If you are using different kinds of cd sorts and it does not work, i would call sony and ask for help. Try sony cds!!
