Hi james thanks for the reply
it is my smart media card from my camera that wont format
i was just right clicking on the drive for the card and clicking format it goes thrue the bumf and says all data will be lost ect ect then just says format couldint be done
dont know if my cam has a format thing its an old lump lol
i have a new kodak one on order should be here on monday
so i will give that a bash
it sounds like it needs formated in my cam right enough
I would connect the cable to a back USB port, and have the unit at the front for ease of use.
Also because I have a feeling they're better powered, me probably being silly again

@Kee-Lo
U are damn right, some USB ports are not well powered, not all may function properly with some hardware add-ons.
This apply to peecees with more than 2 USB-Ports.
The solution is just to try out where´s the right port.
Example:
-connecting a USB 2.0 HD to an port tells me that this harware can get a better transfer rate when connected to the right USB-Port
-connecting the HD to the right port improves the transfer rate to lightning fast!!!
Example END!
Thanks Nemo
hahahaha James you were wrong!
thanks all
i will try and swap the usb cable to the back ports ect
strange that its a format problem i am getting if it is a power thing ?
Had a similar problem with someone elses card reader....
