VGN-NS21Z Charger and Harness replacement

Hi

I have a not new VGN-21z laptop, and the charger went bad, as well as the ever present problem with the harness/charger jack in the laptop loosing its central cylinder piece. So i was hoping to replace these with the matching units from another laptop. I have fortunately found a charger from another laptop , which has the same...well, everything, to model/part number. With this, i understood that the jack would also be the same.

I have now 2 jacks which work for the same charger, but have different codes and lenght

m790 dc in cable from NS21Z

073-0001-5213 a

ms90 dc in cable from FZ21m

073-0001-2852 b

So my question is, can i replace the 1st one with the 2nd one, or am i missing something regarding this (the difference seems to be lenght of the harness cable). Apart from this, the chargers look and have identical labels, are of identical jack size, and the input jack heads seem to match. Would be good to have an opinion to be on the safe side. Thanx to all!
