Hi @1979boo, welcome to our forum!

The little "x" icon means that mobile data is deactivated and the "x" icon will be removed when you active mobile data again.

You can enable mobile data either by using the quick settings (drag the notification bar twice, or once with two fingers) or if you go to Settings > Network and Internet > Mobile network and drag the slider from the left to the right.
