PDF Downloads

I cannot download and pdfs from emails. I am getting a generic'we encountered a problem please try later". My phone is a sonyexperia xa new out of the box. Is there something in settings I need to adjust? This is happening with all attachments.

Thank you for your reply. Its is all. PDF files, and I am using the AOL app. I suspect the problem may be with the app rather than my phone and have emailed AOL support. Any advice would be much appreciated
