Hi People,
I have a XA Ultra. and i have the following issue:
at first when i wanted to change my ringtone or notification tone. i got a popup screen,. that asked me if i wanted to perform that action once or always. I accidently selected always and now i am only able to select the standard ringtones and standard notification tones.
Is there a way to get that popup screen back? without resetting the complete phone? its not in the manual (nor is the popup screen for that matter).
Solved! Go to Solution.
By selecting "Always" you did set an app or service as the default sound picker. To clear this you need to figure out the name of the app or service and reset its defaults. If you're not sure which app or service you selected to "Always" pick sounds, then try my suggestion above. This will NOT reset your whole phone, it will just reset any settings you adjusted in apps, including defaults.
Hello @TeJo1970 and welcome to the community!
As we are not sure what app you selected for picking sounds, we can do the following:
Go to Settings -> Apps -> tap on the 3-dots icon on the top right corner -> Choose "Reset app preferences"
This should reset all app defaults, not only the sound picking app.
Thanks for your reply. however i do not use a specific app for it.
I'm using the following from the XA Ultra manual.
To select a ringtone
Find and tap Settings > Sound & notification > Phone ringtone.
Select an option from the list or tap and select a music file that is saved on your device.
To confirm, tap Done.
To select the notification sound
Find and tap Settings > Sound & notification > Notification sound.
Select an option from the list or tap and select a music file that is saved on your device.
To confirm, tap Done
So its not by using a specific app. in both cases i used to get an popup screen after selecting "phone ringtone" or "notification sound". because i selected "always" in that popup screen i no longer have the ability so select a music file through this menu.
I would like to get that popsccreen back.
Greetings TeJo

Most probably you have set Sound Picker as default. Try the following: settings > apps > 3 dots top right > show system > sound picker > open by default (it should write "some defaults set") > clear defaults. Then check again in sound
thanks people.
i got it reset.
