Xa screen flickers in camera mode

Hi,
My wife has a new Xa and has had huge issues while trying to take photos. On occasion (more often than not) while in camera mode, the screen flickers with camera functions disappearing and reappearing rapidly causing all function to become useless. If we point the camera away it seems to rectify until we point the camera back to the subject, at which time it malfunctions again. Obviously it is finding some lighting or focus conditions favourable over others.
I would just like to know if this is an already known glitch, and if so, is there a solution without needing to send the phone away for repair??

I have the same issue with my XA (F3115). I only just got it and it's been this way from the beginning.

I think the camera button has a half press and it is faulty because when I touch it lightly that appears to send it into this flickering mess that stops when you point somewhere else or be very still. 

I think it might have something to do with focus also because when I'm using the front facing camera it fails to focus on my face. 

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Hello i have the same problem with the Xperia XA flickering in camera mode. It happens

when you half press the camera button to focus and then let it go, the onscreen controls and buttons

keep flickering on and off for awhile. I tried some other camera apps and theres no issue with

those so im assuming its some kind of bug in sonys camera app maybe?, if so, could you please

release a fix or update for this sony?

hey guys! first of all we need to eliminate probable causes of the problem.

so first,.

try to run Xperia Diagnostics

try to boot to safe mode and test again

lastly peform software repair using Xperia Companion

if the problem persisted after all the diagnostics tests, it most probably a hardware problem, try to have your device checked at your local service center Local support

my phone passes all the diagnostics, i booted into safe mode and tried the camera, problem persists,

havent tried the software repair with xperia companion though, i dont know if its worth the trouble restoring everything, i might try and take it back to vodafone and see if theyll give me another phone maybe, otherwise ill just put up with it, thanks anyway, jason
